ABOUT US

We offer expertise in landscape, urban planning and ecology for communities and companies from concept to site monitoring in France and around the world.

SEMPERVIRENS, which means always green in Latin or persistent, is an international technical design office specializing in landscape, urban planning, environmental engineering and design.
The agency's projects reveal and enhance natural elements while preserving the ecosystem. Our projects magnify the wind, the sun, the water cycle to express our neo-romantic profession of faith “Man as servant and protector of nature”. We want to review the relationship between humanity and its environment.

Philosophy

SEMPERVIRENS develops landscaping that is economical in resources, hyper-contextual, using a majority of native plants. This projected botanical desire releases special atmospheres each time, since they are specific to the site, adapted to geology, pedology, microclimatology... The purpose of this approach is to preserve heritage biodiversity, to reconstitute degraded ecosystems as opposed to "standardized" plantations.
The form of the developments can on the contrary be highly structured, in dialogue with the built environment, in contrast with the natural ecosystem.

Sempervirens urbanistes fight against urban sprawl, it is obvious that the interest of merging habitat and activities in nature is multiple. Making it possible to reduce visual pollution, particularly on the coasts, but above all ecological by diversifying monospecific thuya hedges, thick green roofs also make it possible to thermally insulate buildings. This wild and integrated urbanization in the ecosystem is possible for all built typologies and it is this great challenge that SEMPERVIRENS LANDSCAPERS takes up when we are entrusted with landscaping-urban planning missions.

Who are we ?

The agency was created at the instigation of Frederic-Charles AILLET, in 2004, while still a student, he imagined the SEMPERVIRENS project to provide creative solutions to the ecological crisis of the Anthropocene. In 2006, his work as a landscaper with Nicolas Michelin (ANMA) was noticed. This is how he was selected to take part in the competition for the French Embassy in Tokyo, Japan which he wins. This garden will receive many distinctions: American Institute of Architects Prize 2012, Victoires du paysage 2014, Japanese BCS Building Contractors Society Award...

The SEMPERVIRENS team of engineers brings together multiple skills in the field of ecological infrastructure, agriculture, in the reconstitution of natural ecosystems, in water management and development in classified heritage sites, but also in the fight against water and air pollution and the creation of participatory developments.

The agency is based in Paris and works on all types of programs in France and around the world.
